11 Questions for Jimena Arroyo

We are back with our 11 Questions. This time I had the honor to ask them Jimena Arroyo! Another fun time and trust me with some surprising replies!

The musical part:

1. What’s your favorite song by Jimena Arroyo?

What a tough question! It’s like asking a mom to choose her favorite child. But well, inevitably, we do have a soft spot for one, and that tends to change over the years as we keep writing new songs. But if I had to pick one, it would be Loophole.

2. If you could pick one famous artist.. Which one would you pick for a duo?

Another tough question, and it would be really hard to choose, but I think out of the artists who are still alive today, I’d pick Richard Marx. He’s been one of my favorite singers and songwriters since I was a kid. I did a duet with him on Instagram, but I’d love to do one in person.

3. Tell us a dream place of you to have a concert

I know most singers dream of performing at Madison Square Garden or doing a residency in Las Vegas, but for me, I’d love to do a concert on the beach, packed with people. I once sang at a beach resort and it was amazing. I’d love to do that for thousands of people.

The non musical part:

4. Would you rather have a beach vacation or a mountain vacation?

I love beach vacations. I love reading, relaxing and disconnecting. Water is a source of energy that grounds me. So if I had to choose, I’d definitely go with a beach vacation.

5. Please end this sentence. To totally relax I need…

…peace of mind. And that’s not so easy to come by, but with music, books, a good movie or series it’s possible. I also need to know that all the people I love are okay. That gives me a sense of calm. Then I can relax—at least for a little while, until the next worry shows up.

6. Coffee or tea?

Tea, definitely, in all its varieties, colors and aromas. I love trying teas from different parts of the world. That’s another thing that helps me relax.

7. Tell us your favorite season of the year

My favorite season of the year is definitely autumn. I love the temperature, at least here, where I live, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I love the colors, the falling leaves and everything autumn symbolizes.

8. Do you have any secret talents?

If they were secret talents, I wouldn’t tell you! Haha. But okay, I can share a talent that not everyone might know about. I love writing books, especially for children. I write poems, essays, short stories and novels. I’ve published seven children’s books in my country. Imagining stories is something I truly enjoy and that also comes through in the songs I create.

9. What’s your favorite place you never have been to before but want to go?

Oh, so many that I wouldn’t even know where to start! I haven’t had the chance to travel much, to be honest. I’d love to visit cities like Paris, London, Barcelona, Tokyo, Seoul, New York… but above all, I’d really love to go to Greece and Istanbul. Who knows, maybe someday in the future I’ll get to make it happen.

10. If you could go back in time, where and when would you go to?

I’d love to travel back to the time of Louis XV at the Palace of Versailles. I’d also like to visit Italy during the Renaissance. And I’d be fascinated to see what dinosaurs were really like, live and in person. But more than anything, I’d love to travel back and meet myself at 8 or 10 years old and tell that little girl that things get better, that everything’s going to be okay. I’d encourage her to believe in herself and remind her that life is beautiful and worth living.

11. If you could ask Oli a question, what would it be?

Do you have any dream(s) left to fulfil? If so, which one(s)?

Ah that was another fun time!! Thank you Jimena for joining this and replying to all of the questions. Some pretty cool replies. I would love to be there at your beach concert. So please tell me when it happens!
To your question. Oh well I have still some dreams left to fulfil. It would take too much time to tell you all, but here are some… A TFSC-Festival is a dream for sure. Imagine to have you all here on stage! Thats one of the biggest dreams. To visit some of the indies concerts all over the world (and your beach concert) is another dream. Other than that I always have dreamed to visit New Zealand and Australia.
So guys that was it for this time! Thank you for taking the time to read this and once again huge thank you to Jimena!!
Read you all next time!
