After 6 days I finally function again. Those 7 days of our countdown were in the end a bit exhausting. All the scheduling, creating shoutouts, set the right shoutouts and all that. Trust me, I didn’t feel exhausted while the countdown. There was pure excitement. But some hours after the countdown I first fell in a deep sleepy hole. All together I have to say it was worth it! Really I enjoyed every single second of it!

First Maybe Some Facts

2697 acts nominated. I dont say artists because some how I got nominated too. Lets say 2696 artists and one confused guy!
We were 7 days and 3 hours on air. It was the longest countdown in the TFSC history!
Ah forget it I won’t bore you with boring numbers and facts!!

It was a Blast!

Yes really a blast! It felt like a 7 days festival of indies! Ian of Interstitium mentioned it on Facebook, and I have to say he was totally right with it. And if you think about it, in the countdown were “only” 25 per cent of the acts we play on the station. I personally totally enjoyed ever single song and somehow I thought to myself “I could do this every week” .
The quality of each act is simply great. For me every single artist (nominated or not) is a winner. They are able to create masterpieces which I have the honor to play them!
Another fact which made me happy. There were some acts which went up more than 300 places compared to last years countdown. We had a newcomer in the Top 10. Maybe I should show you a video of one of her songs before I go on!

Ok Lets Go On With The Review

Talking about the Top 10! There was some movements in it, not only female acts this year! But the Top 3 still in the hand of our ladies. With Nine Year Sister, Mikalyn and Sadie Fine. First time ever there was “only” one former Artist of the Year in it. And hey they managed something which never happened before. Yes Nine Year Sister is Artist of the Year for the 2nd year in a row! Clare and me already were waiting for one cute celebrating story on Instagram. Little did we know. Jennie and Emma werent anymore on the festival area and already on their way home. Thankfully they were at least able to take a listen while driving! (I wonder where their bus driver was)
So yes before I write another paragraph! This countdown was amazing because of the music. It was the best way to end last year and celebrate the new year! A huge huge congrats to Nine Year Sister and thank you to Jennie and Emma for everything you have done for the station. But mostly thank you for getting us always in another universe with your amazing music!
